Wilson Sonsini Advises R2 on $9 Million Series A Extension

On November 28, 2024, R2, Latin America’s leading embedded finance platform, announced the completion of a $9 million Series A extension led by Hi Ventures and Cometa. Endeavor Catalyst, Y Combinator, and Gradient Ventures also participated in the equity round. Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati advised R2 on the transaction.

R2 enables platforms such as payment processors, marketplaces, ride-hailing apps, and vertical SaaS with embedded financial services for their small and medium businesses. Since its founding in 2020, R2 has offered financing to more than 47,000 businesses across Mexico, Chile, Colombia, and Peru. R2 intends to leverage the new funds to accelerate product development initiatives to integrate more platforms and invest in computing power to train more AI-based models.
